We've just taken our first booking for Christmas 2008 and the snow is still on the ground in England! Each year we check our prices against a brochure picked at random from a travel agent's shelf. This year, we decided to send our hypothetical holiday-makers to La Fuente de La Higuera near Ronda, where they will be enjoying a 29% saving against the Simpson's Travel brochure. In previous years our random sample check has found savings as high as 50%. This year we think the figures are lower because our prices take account of the recent drop in the value of the pound, whereas the tour operators haven't had the time to work that into their prices (yet!).
