News from Little Hotels, Edition 19

Goodbye 2009, hello 2010. For most of us 2009 will be a year that we're glad to see the back of:
Those of us with businesses worried about whether we would survive,
Those of us with money in the bank worried about whether the bank would survive,
Those of us with jobs worried about whether we would keep them,
Those of us without jobs just worried,
Those of us who thought a holiday at home would be cheaper discovered how wet and expensive that can be,
Global warming brought us hot air in Copenhagen but snow everywhere else.
We need a holiday!

Recent New Hotels

At this time of year, the Canaries is the obvious choice for a bit of sun, but not the only choice. The Atlantic coast of Morocco offers a similar climate so consider Madada Mogador or Riad Asmitou in Essaouira. Not just great weather and great culture, they're easy on the pocket too.
Costa de La Luz
On the Costa de la Luz (the south west coast of Spain) we added another chic little hotel in Vejer de la Frontera: the economically named Hotel V... . The owner there has a real eye for detail, which shines through in every aspect of the hotel.

Just outside Seville, Casa de Carmona is a little bigger that the usual “Little Hotel” but it qualifies admirably on the grounds of being a hotel that we would want to stay in. The decor is outstanding, the owner enthusiastic and the staff have that clever way of being unobtrusive and attentive at the same time. We really couldn't ask for much more.

Something Else Is Happening

I can't say much yet, but look out for a new venture from Little Hotels. The next newsletter will come out in a couple of weeks (rather than sooner than is our norm), and that will be to announce "Little Hotels of France”. France is the biggest tourist destination bar none, and right now we are working hard to bring you the little French hotels that we would want to stay in.

Recommendations

Many of our clients tell us that they have recommended Little Hotels to their friends. That's pleasing, and we're very grateful. Some clients have also recommended hotels to us, and some of those are now listed on our websites. If you have stayed somewhere that you think deserves to be featured on Little Hotels, please tell us by sending an e-mail to office@littlehotels.co.uk . A recommendation remains the sincerest form of compliment.

In the end, 2009 was not as bad as it might have been. I think we're all looking forward to 2010 though; the team here at Little Hotels certainly is. As ever, we advise you to book your holiday as early as possible to get the best possible choice of hotel and room, and maybe even benefit from an early booking discount.

Happy holidays!
