Palacio Torre de Ruesga
, Barrio la Barcena S/N, Ruesga.
Palacio Torre de Ruesga is located in the stunning Cantabria Alto Asón region, where it has stood since 1610, surrounded by forests and the Collados del Asón natural park. It offers a swimming pool, modern spa facilities with jacuzzi and free sauna, plus free wifi internet throughout the building.
The hotel is elegantly decorated as one would expect of a Spanish stately house, with massive stone walls and lots of antique furniture. The exquisite frescoes that were completed by painter León Criach y Durán in 1886 have been restored and decorate the walls and ceilings of the main salon, the library, and the entertaining room. Today the interior is a contemporary and luxurious take on the splendour of the original furnishings. All rooms have been designed with a meticulous attention to detail that emulates the magnificence with which its original owners surrounded themselves.
The position of the hotel in the Cantabrian mountains is ideal, in easy reach of both the Santander and Bilbao ferries and Bilbao airport. And should you ever tire of the beautiful mountain scenery, the Cantabrian coast is only 25 minutes away by car.

A marvellous hotel in incredible countryside. It's a country house that has been very well preserved both inside and out. They haven't missed a detail. The receptionist Monica was charming, and the waiter in the restaurant was very friendly. |
We spent a magical night in this incredible palace hotel. We were attended to by a friendly lad who also showed us round parts of the hotel and told us about it's history. |
It was delightful. We stayed in the Suite with Jacuzzi, a spectacular room with a beamed ceiling, a huge bath and a bed that could not have been more comfortable. The hotel is beautiful with a big well-tended garden, swimming pool, guest car park. |
