Château de L’Isle Marie is a classic French country house nestled in a one hundred acre park, that has everything guests could wish for. There are meadows and woodlands that invite a stroll to take in nature. Five antique-filled guest rooms with either four-poster or canopy beds incorporating textiles rich in colour and design are your home for the duration of your stay in this fairytale neo-Gothic castle.

The chateau has remained in the same family for a thousand years, since before the time of William the Conqueror. Today it provides a luxury stay in the heart of the Normandy countryside, close to the famous Sainte Mère Eglise and the D-Day beaches, an excellent base from which to explore the attractions of the region.

There are two standard double rooms, two superior double rooms and the imposing Grand Dauphin suite which has two double bedrooms and a notably large bathroom. In a house of this quality, the standard of decor and equipment is a given, and all rooms have views out over the parkland.

The public rooms on the ground floor are all immaculately decorated with antique furniture, old family paintings, wood panelling and rich parquet floors. Continental breakfast is served daily.

There is a tennis court, and bicycles are available for rides around the estate or the surrounding countryside. The area is a popular place for bird-watching and the park is home to many species including some rare and protected ones. Beyond the estate, Chateau de L’Isle Marie is a great base for exploring the Cherbourg peninsula, visiting Sainte-Mere-Eglise or going to the many D-Day sites and museums in the area.
