Finca Las Longueras

We had a lovely time at Las Longueras. The bed was big and comfortable, the room was clean and airy, the shower was powerful and hot water plentiful. The breakfasts were delicious, fresh squeezed orange juice from the trees we looked onto, delicious local ham, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, boiled eggs, all lovely and fresh, perfect melon, cheeses, mixed fruits, cereals, pastries and endless coffee. We came and went as we pleased, dinner at the hotel on the first evening was good plain cooking, perfectly adequate a fixed menu for 16 euros but after we discovered the seafood at Puerto de las Nieves we ate there every night and some lunch as well. The hotel ‘snack bar’ operates at lunchtime every day and the honesty box system for helping oneself to cold drinks, water/soft drinks and beers works very well. There is an excellent restaurant just up the road from the hotel, Casa Lolo, which looks like a roadside shack but is very much worth stopping at. The hotel swimming pool is immaculate although took a bit of a deep breath to get into in February as did the sea. Lots of walking to be done all around the hotel – serious stuff if that is what you want and gentle strolls too. The springs in the valley mean that it is green and full of birdsong. A delightful and relaxing place to stay, highly recommend.
