Casa de Carmona is a truly aristocratic house-turned-hotel that pampers its guests with its ornate luxury and beauty. Meanwhile the staff provide the finishing touches in a discreet and friendly manner. All this at a very affordable price.
Set just 30 km from Seville, this luxury hotel is a great location for visiting the city, or equally for enjoying the other towns and countryside that is all around. Being in the centre of Carmona (a surprising and beautiful historic town) the garden and swimming pool are small, but it is the public rooms that are the raison d'etre of this hotel. The loggia and patios (yes, four patios) are filled with light while the lounges, the restaurant and the library are filled with elegant furniture and antiques.
Accommodation ranges from attractive double rooms right up to the amazing Suite Azul, probably the finest, grandest suite that we have ever seen (unfortunately not available just at the moment).
Casa de Carmona was a town palace that remained in the same family for centuries. Not until 1987 was it sold to a lady of exquisite taste who used all of her design skills to transform the old house into a wonderful hotel. The terracotta, marble, fountains, pot-plants, antique furniture, fine prints seem to know no bounds. Today, Casa de Carmona is managed by the enthusiastic owner Felipe; a man steeped in the traditions of grand houses who is totally dedicated to his guests and his hotel.
Larger than most Little Hotels, but the important measure is "Would we like to stay here?" You bet! Tinkling fountains, luxuriant curtains and fabrics, elegant furniture, fine paintings and prints. None of the beautiful furnishings prevent this hotel feeling very comfortable, homely and relaxed.
A Word from the Owner
"Our priorities are, in this order: our current guests, the maintenance of the house, and attending to our prospective clients. We put all our experience, effort and love into the house. The Casa de Carmona is a well-loved, family-run casa-palacio turned into a hotel with a good ambience and many things to appreciate and enjoy."
Room number 7 has an ornate XVIth century coffered ceiling. Rooms 8 and 15 are duplexes, with the living room downstairs and the bedroom upstairs. Rooms 16 and 19 have a separate living room. Rooms 10 and 24 have the best views.
Deluxe rooms all have a special something that makes them stand out: a high vaulted ceiling, a view to the gardens, or some exceptional prints and antique furniture. The bathrooms are larger, some with a separate shower. Their larger size makes Deluxe Doubles more suitable for longer stays.
Each Double is individually decorated with lively colours, elegant fabrics and original prints. Many are lofts and have the bathroom integrated in the same space, separated by a wooden screen. They are equipped with all that one would expect in a luxury hotel.
The Gracia Real restaurant is a very elegant dining space with stuccoed walls and equestrian frescos, mahogany Victorian tables, elegant china. The a la carte menu is focused on the best of local ingredients prepared with respect to their flavours. There is no silly pretension; just unbeatable freshness within a sensible and understandable concept. The wine list features up-to-date and affordable Spanish wines.
Carmona offers 2 Roman Gates, Roman Road, Roman Necropolis, 13 Churches, House-Palaces, Convents, Excellent Tapas Restaurants, Historic streets, Museums

Reviews from Little Hotels Travellers:
A truly historic house in an amazing location. Worth a nights stay just to look around and a delightful receptionist. It was 39C that day however and the air-con in our room could not cope. But nice and near the airport for an early getaway back to Seville. Expensive but I guess you pay for the ambience. Had no time for breakfast unfortunately.
Here's What Some People Have Written On Other Review Sites or in the Guestbook:

You are the perfect host. The words 'lovingly restored' as featured in your brochure perfectly describes the beauty within your home. Thank you once again.
Much happiness to Felipe and Reyes and the whole family.
