Situated in the countryside just outside the village of El Paso, Dulce Valle Villas has views in all directions. Look north and east to the mountains and the caldera, or west to the Atlantic Ocean.

This small cluster of buildings houses one and two bedroom apartments, set in a terraced garden. At the centre is the large swimming pool with a grand terrace all around and a spa on the side with a jacuzzi, sauna and Turkish bath. This is the ideal spot for soaking up the sun, relaxing and enjoying the spectacular views.

All the apartments are exceptionally well-equipped with a sitting room that includes a sofa-bed, a kitchen with a full range of appliances, a private terrace, wi-fi, satellite TV, a safety deposit box and reversible air conditioning. Choose from one or two bedrooms, and there's also an apartment adapted for disabled guests.

The position of Dulce Valle Villas seems hard to beat. Lying at the foot of the main mountain of the island there are a host of hiking trails to the various viewing points, waterfalls and the impressive Caldera de Taburiente. For less energetic people, there are some incredibly scenic winding roads to take you to many of the best places too. It's about a 20 minute drive down to the cliffs and small beaches of the west coast or a little further to the east coast and the island capital of Sant Cruz. The area affected by the Cumbre Vieja volcano is well to the south, with somewhat restricted access of course but also affording a unique opportunity to see the power of earth at its most raw.
