Reasons to visit Galicia

The rugged and remote region of Galicia in the far north-west corner of Spain has strong Celtic origins, and is steeped in folklore and tradition. Its capital, Santiago de Compostela, is one of Spain's most beautiful and most visited cathedral towns. It is, of course, the destination for pilgrims following the Camino de Santiago.

Along its coastline, which is indented with fjord-like rías (estuaries), Galicia has many stunning beaches and picturesque fishing villages.
