Reasons to visit Salamanca & Segovia
Two important cities on the cultural tourist trail lie just to the north of Madrid, Salamanca and Segovia. Both date back at least to the Roman occupation and there are important Roman sites in both, including a brilliantly-preserved aqueduct near Segovia. The history then continues from the middle ages with all manner of great buildings, notably the Plaza Mayor in Salamanca.
