Reasons to visit Córdoba

The history of Córdoba extends back to the bronze age, but it is the golden era of the Caliphate of Córdoba that we all remember best. Many great buildings were constructed during the epoque when Córdoba was the centre of the western Islamic world, the most famous of which is the Mezquita, or Great Mosque. Converted to a Christian cathedral following the re-conquest, the Mezquita remains the first port-of-call for visitors today. Don't miss the many other historic sights though.
