Era de la Corte
, La Corte, 1, Antigua, Fuerteventura.
Hotel Rural Era de la Corte is a former farmhouse built in 1890 and once restored it became the first rural hotel on Fuerteventura. Owner Andrés was born here, and he and his wife have created a homely, well-designed bolthole for visitors to the island.
Located next to an iconic windmill, the hotel has a patio and a swimming pool surrounded by a sunbathing terrace. The garden is well stocked with Canarian palms, aloe vera and other native plants, creating a setting of quietness and relaxation.
At the heart of the house, the expansive lounge area links everything together under a glazed roof. There is a games room for table tennis and darts, and a stylish breakfast room.
The bedrooms are the handiwork of Andrés’ wife María, where she has used lots of exposed stone walls to bring out the rustic origins of the hotel. These contrast with the warm colours of the fabrics used and the mix of old and contemporary styles of furniture.
This adults-only hotel is ideal for visitors seeking the laid-back pace of Fuerteventura life and a climate which is possibly the best in the world. Now run by David and Malole, they would be delighted to tell you all what they know about the island, from the exotic beaches with stunning sunsets to the best restaurants or the most interesting places for hiking. They can talk about the secret spots you can discover, the old stories and legends and the adventure places which are easy to find.
