Casa Tomaren
, Calle El Parral, 144, Mozaga.
The Hotel Casa Tomarén is a beautiful 18th century Lanzarote farmhouse, whose restoration has been sympathetic to the local vernacular style, enhanced by touches of Spanish, Moroccan and Indonesian. Although the views look out on the classic volcanic landscape of Lanzarote, the extensive gardens around the hotel are lush, green, and a shelter from the Canarian breezes.
The seven villas that make up Casa Tomarén are scattered around the grounds, providing a maximum of personal space for guests. All but the smallest have a private terrace with dining and lounging furniture. Each of the villas has its own individual charm, with delightful country decor carefully mixed with modern comforts and facilities. Accommodation ranges from a studio for two right up to two bedroom cottages which with extra beds have room for six or even eight.
The swimming pool lies in a sheltered hollow surrounded by lush grass and landscaped gardens. It is complemented by sun loungers, an exotic Indonesian gazebo, hammocks and a chill-out zone. There is also a bar area nearby.
The relaxed atmosphere of the hotel shines through in the wellness centre where guests can enjoy yoga, massage, reflexology, reiki or shiatsu therapies all in the careful hands of one of the most renowned therapists on the island.
Casa Tomarén is close to the centre of Lanzarote, in easy reach of everything that guests may wish to see or do. As well as quietly lying on a warm beach, there are great opportunities for every sort of water sport. And inland the spectacular volcanic scenery is something truly unique.

Reviews from Little Hotels Travellers:
We had a wonderful holiday in Lazarote. Casa Tomaren is ideally situated in the middle of the island in a lovely peaceful garden with beautiful pool. It has easy access to all the fabulous walking and surfing areas of the island. Although there isn't an on site restaurant, it isn't far to a couple of lovely options especially the restaurant in Mozaga. The 2 bed villa was very spacious with a nice private terrace. The staff were lovely and courteous and overall if you are expecting a 3 star hotel (which it is) you will be very pleasantly surprised. It would not take very much to upgrade the experience and some small things let it down....quality of the bed linen, towels and kitchen equipment, lack of heating in the chilly evenings (we asked about this and whilst there were air con units that supposedly converted to heating, they certainly didn't work in our villa), and a more varied breakfast. |
We have just had a wonderful stay at Casa Tomaren. If you want to get away from it all this is the ideal spot. Natalie the hotel manager was very knowledgeable about the local area and gave us plenty of tips on where to eat and visit. The accommodation was tastefully decorated and well equipped and we had a wonderful view of the moutains from our bed. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast and the home made peach and fig jam. The pool area was lovely and the hot tub an added bonus. We would have no hesitation in recommending Casa Tomaren as a great place to stay when visiting Lanzarote. |
