Calabash Cove.
Bonaire Estate, Gros Islet, St Lucia.
Calabash Cove provides the full Caribbean resort experience, but in a smaller form so that you will always be a name and never a number. The hotel takes pride in having a slightly old-fashioned approach to service, with everyone on the staff finding time for a chat. The hotel is spread throughout its lush green gardens, tumbling from the main manor house, past the Sweetwaters pool and terrace, across the lawns, past the beachside cottages to the beach itself.
The extensive facilities include the lovely infinity pool with its swim-up bar and ample sunbathing terraces, a lovely open-fronted lounge, the Ti Spa where a wide range of treatments and massages are available and the private sandy beach complete with its own little boat jetty.
Every evening in the Windsong Restaurant there is live but unobtrusive music playing. It offers a mouth-watering mix of international cuisine and local fare. Much of the menu is also inspired by Asian cuisine and the team of chefs strive to use only local, fresh ingredients in every dish. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the impressive position gives unobstructed views of the sea and those famous Caribbean sunsets. Alongside the restaurant, the C Bar is as elegant as it is hip. It’s a great spot to enjoy one of the hotel’s delicious signature cocktails, good conversation and live music, all the while taking in the unbeatable sea view.
The Swim-Up Junior Suites have direct access to the swimming pool from the private patios, and also their very own jacuzzis. 60 square metres of space assures a comprehensively luxurious stay at Calabash Cove. For even more space and luxury the Water’s Edge Cottages are perfect. Just a few steps from the beach, these Balinese timber cottages come with their own secluded plunge pools, jacuzzis, outdoor rain showers and hammocks for private relaxation. The remaining Junior Suites all benefit from the same sea and sunset views, either in the main manor house or the adjoining building. The have all the same facilities as the Swim-Up Suites.
Guests can enjoy intimate spa treatments from a friendly staff of professionals in a cosy, intimate spa of natural wood and calming colours. There’s a wide range of treatments that combine European technique with St. Lucia’s tradition of using plant and food-based curatives. Each and every treatment is expertly designed to de-stress the body, rejuvenate the spirit and relax the mind. The exfoliation products are all organic, made from local products. The therapists happily demonstrate the different benefits between a coffee or papaya scrub, and more. Massages can be enjoyed on the boardwalk, the gazebo or the privacy of their room patio or cottage living room.
