Domaine de Buhez Nevez
, 17 Rue de Port l'Epine, Trélévern, Brittany.
From the Hotel Domaine de Buhez Nevez you can look right to a little sandy beach, left to a small fishing port or straight out to sea to the "Sept Iles" (Seven Islands). This is a really privileged position on the Pink Granite Coast, ideal for lovers of the sea, or lovers of the coast.
Domaine de Buhez Nevez has two double rooms and two family suites. The rooms have huge floor-to-ceiling windows to make the most of the sea views, and these open out onto a small terrace. The family suites will accommodate families of 4 or 5, one of which is a duplex with the second bedroom upstairs. All the rooms are really nicely decorated with lots of nauticalia to reflect the hotel's position close to the sea, and ports and marinas.
As well as breakfast, dinner is served (on request) in true tables d’hôtes fashion most evenings in the dining room, where (again) there are fabulous sea views. Seafood is the speciality, especially lobster, and the menu almost invariably reflects the catch-of-the-day. There is also an excellent wine list chosen to harmonise with the seafood of the region.
An extra little novelty at the Domaine de Buhez Nevez is the Finnish sauna. Following a sauna in Finland, whatever the weather it's traditional to follow the sauna with a dip in the nearest lake or river. The Buhez Nevez sauna is outside too, facing the sea, but the cold of a northern lake may be just a bit too spartan for most people. Instead there is an outdoor solar shower.
Trélévern is a little village with a mild climate due to the moderating effect of the sea. It lies at the eastern end of Perros-Guirec bay, surrounded by multiple footpaths which are enjoyed by walkers throughout the year. The coastal views are just stunning.
