Hotel Cala di Greco occupies a magnificent position, nestled in acres of Corsican maquis vegetation, looking straight over the old Genoese city of Bonifacio, with views of Sardinia across the clear blue of the Mediterranean.
What gives the hotel its special "wow factor" is the grand sweep of the main infinity pool with it's ample sunbathing terrace and an outdoor bar to keep you fed and watered. From here the land plunges down to the deep inlet that makes Bonifacio harbour. Guests can view the sun bouncing off the white walls and red roofs of the town and watch the super-yachts, yachts and pleasure boats go by. The second pool is equally stylish and has a swimjet and a terrace with sunbeds.
The guest suites are scattered around the garden assuring a high degree of privacy. The suites are large and have a crisp modern style mixing lots of white with a bright contrast colour. Breakfast is served either in your suite or down at the poolside bar. There is no restaurant for lunch and dinner, but Bonifacio is so close it really doesn't matter.
The garden of Cala di Greco has been carved from the natural vegetation, tamed and enhanced to provide an environment that is both comfortably natural and charmingly designed. If Capability Brown had been a Corsican, this is what he would have made.
Bonifacio is just 5 minutes away, as are the nearest beaches, and the nearest golf course in only a little further (where the hotel has negotiated special green fees for guests). Every sort of water sport is available in Bonifacio: water-skiing, wind-surfing, yacht charter, motor boats, and there are many pleasure vessels to take you along the spectacular cliffs and headlands and into the beautiful bays.
