La Cerisaie - Maison de la Plage
, 571 Route de Trouville, Honfleur, Basse-Normandie.
La Cerisaie (aka La Maison de la Plage) lies just yards back from the water’s edge at Honfleur, with uninterrupted views of ships and boats in the channel leading in to the mouth of the River Seine.
This B&B is surrounded by a mature garden of lawn, shrubs, and lots of flowers: a perfect place to sit out and enjoy the sunshine. Just across the road, the garden continues right down to the sea, with chairs, tables and a barbecue where guests can pass some time and watch the boats go by. Continental breakfast is served on the terrace (weather permitting) or in the salon.
Four pretty bedrooms await guests. They sport double beds, sea views and an en-suite bathroom with shower, hair-dryer and free toiletries. Two of the rooms have a small balcony facing the sea, and one also has a sofa-bed to accommodate two extra people.
There’s much to do in Honfleur; the Sailor’s Festival, summer exhibitions at the Boudin Museum, a big jazz event, Festival of the Shrimp, as well as just strolling around the medieval town. The B&B has electric bikes to help guests get around. Then there’s a golf course nearby, horse-riding, boat trips, kayaking, the Naturospace museum, tennis, fishing and even the chance to make a tandem parachute descent.
