Chateau La Rose Perriere.
Lieu-dit Perruchon, Lussac, Gironde.
Chateau La Rose Perriere is a different sort of French chateau. Forget the turrets and the elaborate Louis XIV furnishings, here we will find stylish modernity laced with French tradition in a way that perhaps only a French designer could achieve.
Perhaps part of the style of Chateau La Rose Perriere stems from it's raison d'etre: it is first an foremost a winery. The clue is in the local names: Lussac, St Emilion; and indeed La Rose Perriere produces a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Clos les Grandes Versannes.
Although the vineyards seem to come right up to the door, the Chateau has a large garden, terrace and courtyard, giving guests plenty of space to relax. The interior is equally spacious too, both in the public spaces and the guest bedrooms. The wonderful bathrooms are a notable feature. The guestrooms feature a flat-screen TV, minibar and welcome tray with tea, coffee, chocolate and an electric kettle.
In the morning, a continental breakfast is served, including milk, hot drinks, fruit juice, croissants, bread, jam, yoghurt and fruit. Wine tasting is available upon request and there are restaurants within a few minutes drive.
