My first thought was that the only drawing instrument this architect possessed was a ruler. But I was being unfair, because Le Cube clearly shows that straight lines can be interesting and elegant. Le Cube is further enhanced by the massive mural on the front wall and the position, on the Giens peninsula just 50m from the Mediterranean Sea.

There are four double rooms at Le Cube, each one about 20m² in size with a private terrace leading into the garden. They all have a large double bed (or twins if you prefer), reversible air-conditioning, a safe, a desk and an en-suite bathroom. One room even includes a large, luxurious bath-to-share in the bedroom.

Guests have access to a common area that comprises a fully-equipped kitchen and a living room with a sofa and an Apple TV. They are free to prepare meals in the kitchen at any time, and the cupboards include independent storage for each room. There is also a barbecue in the garden for al fresco cooking.

The simple shapes and straight lines of Le Cube are carried through into the garden, with it's confidently rectangular pool and smooth flat lawn. Just a few shrubs and the tall hedges and trees soften the effect.

Being on the peninsula near Hyeres, Le Cube is virtually surrounded by the sea, so there are beaches, small harbours and watersports opportunities everywhere. It would be a shame to miss out on a visit to the island of Porquerolles while staying at Le Cube.
