Les Magnolias is a romantic riverside mansion right on the banks of the Dordogne river, that has recently been renovated into a boutique style chambre d’hotes (bed and breakfast).
The hotel is located in an attractive wooded setting just outside the village of Lalinde, where time seems to have stood still. Once you enter via the big gates, you are in a private park with beautiful old magnolia, cedar and oak trees. You will find many seating areas around the grounds, in the sun or in the shade. The swimming pool (17 x 7 m) has a lovely view of the river and extensive terraces surrounded by palm and olive trees. The pool is filled with water from the mansion's private source. Right alongside the pool there is a lounge area and pool bar.
The generous continental breakfast is served in the dining room or outside in the morning sun on the roof terrace. It includes fresh French bread, croissants, pain chocolats, brioche, cereal, eggs (boiled, scrambled or omelette), yogurt, cottage cheese, various soft and hard cheeses, cold cuts, various jams, fresh fruit, juice, coffee or tea. For a special treat, indulge yourself with the Magnolia's champagne breakfast. Just 200 metres from Les Magnolias is the village of Lalinde where you will find a choice of restaurants for lunch or dinner, including the specialities of many local chefs who have come together under the “Les Toques du Périgord” banner.
The four guest bedrooms are all spacious and beautifully decorated in a proper French style including original wooden floors, panel doors, long drapes, marble fireplaces, chandeliers and antique pieces. The bathrooms are similarly spacious and well-equipped including delicious walk-in rain showers. The Rosette Apartment has a more contemporary flavour and includes a large private sun terrace with a panoramic view over the river.
