La Maison de Honfleur is a Chambres d’Hotes (B&B) in a brick and flint townhouse among the shops of the historic old town. It's a 5-minute walk from the vibrant Vieux Bassin waterfront district, a 10-minute walk from the Musée Eugène Boudin folk art museum, and 2 km from Plage du Butin beach.

Access up a steep staircase (be warned!) leads to a rich tapestry of big wooden beam, wood panelling stained glass and antique furniture. The staircase itself is built around timbers taken from the masts of old sailing ships. Behind the house is a small garden surrounded by a high stone wall, perfect for quiet contemplation by candlelight in the evening.

Daily cooked breakfast features local produce at whatever time you may choose. Guests also have use of a kitchen, a lounge with a fireplace, and free loan bikes for exploring the town.

The traditional rooms have beamed ceilings, wood-panelled walls and stained glass partitions, some of it reclaimed from other grand properties in Normandy. They all offer Wi-Fi access, flat-screen TVs, DVD players, tea and coffee-making facilities, as well as organic toiletries. With each room measuring about 30m2, there is always plenty of space, so some of the rooms are are set up to accommodate an third and even a fourth person.
