Montevella Chambre d'Hotes.
7 Rue du Chanoine Rannou, Guissény, Brittany.
Montevella is a charming old Breton country house within a garden of 2 acres, in the coastal town of Guisseny. Built originally in 1894, it has undergone a three year restoration to create the current Chambres d'Hotes (bed and breakfast) retaining all the character of the original house, but with the comforts of a modern house.
The large garden has an ornamental pond full of interesting fish and plants, a hexagonal tea house, and lots of space to stroll around. A gate at the bottom of the garden leads to the beach and the Bay of Guisseny, less than 300m away. In the west walled garden, there is a heated swimming pool, vegetable garden and terrace.
There are four large luxurious double bedrooms on the first floor ranging in size from 30 to 40m2. All bedrooms have their own private en-suite bathroom facilities, with casual seating area, desk, TV and internet. The two bedrooms at the rear look out over the back garden and enjoy a partial view of the Bay of Tresseny. The two front south facing bedrooms are slightly larger, and look over the front garden and towards the village of Guisseny and the church.
On the ground floor there is a large sitting room at the disposal of guests who wish to relax, read or play the piano. Continental breakfast is served in the dining room in the morning, and guests may also use the dining room in the evening. All the rooms have high ceilings with ornate plasterwork, original panelled doors, and fireplaces.
