At La Tour de Cause Nico and Igor will welcome you to their splendid old stone barn and manor house, now a charming B&B in the heart of the Dordogne. With their passion for great food and wine, and the beauty and history of their surroundings, they will be keen to share their enthusiasm for this beautiful part of the Périgord. The property includes a swimming pool, large pétanque court and a wooded trail to the ancient stone pigeon tower, “La Tour de Cause”, as well as free wifi access for those who must keep in contact with the outside world.
Breakfast is served in the country kitchen, comprising fresh juice, coffee, tea or chocolate milk. Then croissants & danish pastries, baguette, cereals, homemade jams & chocolate spread. Finally cheese, butter and everyday there is something special, like waffles or French toast.
There’s an option of dinner too, either in the kitchen or in the garden. This is a fixed menu inspired by the produce of the season and given a little special twist. Aperitif, nibbles, starter, main course, dessert, cheese, wine, water and tea or coffee are all included.
Each of the five guest bedrooms features a large and comfortable queen-size bed, Italian-made bed linens, and a luxurious private bathroom. The three ground floor rooms have spacious, walk-in showers and the two upstairs rooms have large bath tubs with a shower over.
The Perigord Noir is a beautiful region, rich in history and natural beauty. You can explore castles from the Middle Ages, wander through quaint little villages and towns, hike through rolling hills, swim, canoe and kayak in the Dordogne river and visit farms and markets. Many fine local restaurants feature the rich, local cuisine of the Perigord, with specialities of duck, foie gras, walnuts and goat cheese.
