U Capu Biancu.
Domaine de Pozzoniello, Bonifacio, Corse du Sud.
This is a beautiful 4 star hotel on the sunlit southern shore of Corsica. The gardens lead down the slope to a wonderfully naturalistic infinity pool surrounded by rocks and plants to the two private beaches. There is a private jetty there for embarking or disembarking. But most of all, U Capu Biancu is dedicated to farniente: the art of doing nothing.
If doing nothing is just a step too far, U Capu Bianu is ideal for doing just a little too. There's great snorkelling off the beaches, or go a little bit further with a kayak or stand-up paddle-board, or charter a catamaran or a motor boat for the full experience. There's also guided hiking, 4x4 excursions, jetskis and quads, kitesurfing and scuba diving available.
The gym in the garden gives an energising workout in an inspiring location. Pilates and yoga sessions can be booked too.
The gourmet restaurant brings all the best that Corsica has to offer: savoury wild herbs, tender meat and fish, juicy fruits and vegetables, and full-bodied wines. All delivered by sustainable local farmers or the hotel's own garden. Lunch is served in the La Paillote beach restaurant with it's wooden tables, thatched roof and laidback atmosphere. Here seafoods are a natural speciality: spiny lobster, prawns, calamari and other marine delights or you might choose the grill, pasta or just a salad.
All the rooms at U Capu Biancu have TV with a DVD player, air-conditioning, free wi-fi and a minibar with free bottled water. The sea-view rooms and suites are decorated with beachy artifacts and have breath-taking ocean vistas from their private balconies; Laetitia, a Sea-View Deluxe Suite, has a large copper bath tub overlooking the bay. Alternatively, the Maquis-View Junior Suites have large private terraces with beautiful outlooks over the flower-filled gardens and the mountain ranges in the distance.
