Hotel Yoann Conte
, 13 Route des Pensieres, Veyrier-du-Lac, Rhône-Alpes.
In 2010 chef Yoann Conte and his wife Elodie took over this legendary hotel from the founder Marc Veyrat. Since then they have really put their mark on the hotel, fully justifying the renaming as Hotel Yoann Conte. The 5 star Relais & Chateaux designation and two Michelin stars for the restaurant assure you of a magical stay in this wonderful lakeside hotel.
With a background of mountains, the gardens and terraces tumble down the hillside to culminate in a sunbathing pontoon right on the shore of Lake Annecy. In summer it’s possible to swim straight from the dockside, or embark on a boat trip on the waters of the lake. Guests looking for a little more excitement might choose wakeboarding, wake surfing or water-skiing, all starting direct from the hotel.
The enchanting position on Lake Annecy also provides a jacuzzi, sauna and a Norwegian steam bath. The hotel can also lend an electric bike to explore the local area, or even circumnavigate the whole lake.
Chef Yoann has placed his kitchen in the heart of the dining room, so diners are invited to witness him at work. With a wood and stone decor inspired by the Savoy region, the atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and inviting. In fine weather it spills out onto the terrace too. Michelin stars and many other awards assure you of a fine dining experience with all the best of regional and seasonal produce. Alpine flowers and herbs add a unique sophistication.
The rest of the hotel entirely lives up to the image. The guest rooms and suites are rich with wood, a finish that contrasts with the soft textures of the beds, sofas and carpets. Every room has a private balcony of terrace overlooking the lake, air-conditioning, a flatscreen television with Blu-Ray, a minibar, wi-fi, and a gorgeous bathroom with a hydromassage bath.
In summer, life here revolves around Lake Annecy, while in winter there is skiing in the mountains. It is a very privileged location.
