Brocco On The Park.
92 Brocco Bank, Sheffield, Yorkshire.
Unsurprisingly, Brocco on the Park stands on the edge of a large green space close to the centre of Sheffield. Externally it reflects its Edwardian heritage while inside it has been designed with Nordic values of simplicity, cosiness, clean uncluttered lines and a soothing palate of neutral colours.
Brocco bedrooms are inspired by nature and birds from the next-door Endcliffe Park, and by the dove of peace from Brocco's most renowned guest, Pablo Picasso, who stayed in 1950 while visiting Sheffield. The hotel is designed with living and sleeping well in mind and you’ll find feel-good essentials like Bramley organic skincare, comfy cotton robes, fresh milk, carafes of chilled water and homemade cakes or biscuits in your room. Best quality mattresses, pillows and bed linens make sure you sleep soundly. All the eight rooms have wooden floors, soft wool rugs and Bronte lambswool blankets, a smart TV and a Nespresso coffee machine. The en-suite bathrooms have monsoon rain showers and LED mood lighting, and the larger rooms have a bath tub too. The larger rooms also have a mini-fridge.
Each day from 5.30pm is Hygge Hour in the lounge when guests are invited to partake of a complimentary glass of bubbly.
The Brocco restaurant restaurant serves high quality English dishes with just an essence of Nordic to make it stand out from the rest. The lunch and dinner menu offers a good selection of meat dishes, fish dishes and vegetarian dishes to suit every taste. On Sundays there is a traditional Sunday Roast and each afternoon is time for afternoon tea. Breakfast is a feast that includes the Hunter, Fisher and Gardener, or go for classics like Eggs Benedict or fluffy waffles with fruit compote or bacon and maple syrup. Fresh smoothies, chocolate porridge and home-made granola give you a healthy boost. Vegetarians, vegans and gluten free diners are amply catered. And if you're feeling lazy, get up late and call it brunch.
Brocco on the Park is perfectly located for access to Sheffield city centre, the University of Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam University and the city’s hospitals. The countryside delights of Derbyshire are only a short journey away. The hotel is situated just off the A625, which takes you directly to the Peak District: home to handsome towns like Bakewell and Hathersage, historic houses like Chatsworth and Haddon, and where there are walks, cycle trails and outdoor activities aplenty.
