Chestnut Grove B&B is situated on the broad, tree-lined Newmarket Road, convenient both for the city centre and access to the surrounding countryside.
At the front the expansive gravel drive both isolates the house from the road and provides ample parking for guest's cars. Behind the house is a garden with a large terrace, lawn, shrubs, fruit trees, a 200 year old fig tree and a children’s play area. The interior is tastefully decorated in a traditional style with an abundance of curios to look at.
Breakfast is served in the dining room, furnished in late Georgian style, or in the spacious conservatory which is also furnished with chairs and sofas to create an extra lounge at other times of day. The breakfast includes all the usual cold starters like fruit, yoghurt, cereals and juice, followed by a full English, Eggs Benedict, Poached eggs with avocado and several other choices including vegetarian.
The bedrooms are on the first and second floors, all with a private bathroom. There are three double rooms, a king double and two economically priced singles. They all have a well-stocked hospitality tray, high speed WiFi, a view of the garden or the water fountain at the front, a hairdryer, a shower (some also have a bath) and a smart TV (except one single room).
Chestnut Grove is ideally located to explore the local historic, cultural attractions, for example Norwich Cathedral, Norwich Castle, Elm Hill, Bridewell Museum, Strangers Hall Museum, Dragon Hall, the North Norfolk Coast, the Norfolk Broads and the numerous National Trust properties in the county.
