The Cleveland Bed and Breakfast.
Cleveland Rd, Torquay, Devon.
There are a hundred little English seaside hotels in every seaside town, but not many are like The Cleveland. Everything is spick and span, the hosts just can’t do enough for you, and the breakfasts are superb. Lissanne and Matt have over 50 years experience between them, having worked for such industry icons as Gary Rhodes and Albert Roux before moving to Torquay to create their vision of The Cleveland Bed and Breakfast. The AA Four Star Gold award is just one testament to their success.
Breakfast at The Cleveland has won AA awards three years running. The focus is all about the ingredients and fantastic local suppliers. Naming just a few, there are sausages and bacon from Lloyd Maunder butchers, bread from Halletts Bakery and eggs from the Exe Valley. Guests can help themselves from a buffet selection of juices, fruits and cereals, yogurt and granola followed by a freshly cooked breakfast chosen from an extensive menu before finishing things off with toast and locally produced marmalades and preserves. Torquay is blessed with an abundance of fine restaurants, and Lissanne or Matt will be happy to provide recommendations.
The Cleveland has a fully-licensed bar and a sunny guest lounge. The bar stocks a wide selection of wines, spirits, lagers and local real ales and cider from Bay's Brewery in Paignton. There is also a south-facing terrace and garden for enjoying the sunny days of the English Riviera.
The Cleveland has seven beautiful en-suite guest bedrooms. All are equipped with pocket sprung beds, fluffy towels, tea & coffee beverage tray, a homemade fudge treat, Devon bottled water, complimentary toiletries, television and a hair dryer. The Deluxe and King Suites have luxury bathrobes. The Superior Double room has a small seating area with a sofa and the Deluxe Suite and King Suite being the largest rooms both have a large seating area and larger shower rooms. The Deluxe and King Suites can also be booked as a family room with a sofa bed to accommodate up to two children if required.
Torquay has a multitude of attractions for children and adults alike. There are miles of beaches, picturesque cliffs, Kent’s Cavern, Torre Abbey and Cockington. Dartmoor is just a few miles inland, and the coast in both directions is full of interest.
