Holly Lodge.
The Street, Thursford, Norfolk.
Holly Lodge is a 5-star boutique B&B located in the heart of North Norfolk, with the coast at Blakeney and Wells-Next-the-Sea near at hand. Set in an acre of land it has a pretty garden ideal for sitting out on a sunny afternoon. In March 2026 it was a winner on Channel 4's Four In a Bed.
The 18th century house contains three guest bedrooms, a lounge, breakfast room, and also has a large conservatory. Across the forecourt are the old stables which provide a further three cottage rooms. Then down at the bottom of the garden is the Shepherd's Hut, with extra privacy and also it's own kitchen if guest's wish to prepare an additional meal or snack.
A daily breakfast is served in the garden conservatory. Guests are free to help themselves to an array of cereals, granola, seasonal fruits, fresh bread, pastries, and juices. This can be followed by a full cooked English breakfast, using the highest quality products locally sourced from top North Norfolk suppliers.
The three rooms on the first floor of the main house all have super kingsize beds, Nespresso coffee machines, tea-making, a flatscreen TV and even air-conditioning. The en-suites are generous with big walk-in showers and the Holly Room also has a big roll top bath. The three cottage rooms are similar in style with kingsize beds in two and a double in the Flint Cottage, which also has an exposed flint wall reflecting the vernacular building style of Norfolk. The Shepherd's Hut is a large studio with a kingsize bed, a a central stove burner, a chesterfield sofa, plus the well-equipped kitchen. The bathroom there adopts a more rustic style but retains a walk-in shower.
Norfolk is famous for its open countryside and big skies. Lightly populated and largely unspoiled, its characteristic brick-and-flint villages are surrounded by miles of working farmland. Most of the northern coastline is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with a unique saltmarsh habitat providing a haven for wildlife. The classic 'must-do' trip on the Norfolk coast is a visit to the 500-strong seal colony on Blakeney Point. Dedicated walkers can get there on foot but most people will choose one of the seal trip boats that run each day from Morston or Blakeney quay. A talking of walkers, they are very well catered-for in the area.
