The Mulberry Inn in the quiet setting of Llwynmawr village in the beautiful Ceiriog Valley is only five scenic miles from the A5 between Wrexham and Llangollen. It’s a delightful country inn where the warmth and friendliness of the enthusiastic team is always apparent. Offering excellent value with personal attention, The Mulberry Inn is a welcoming haven of hotel elegance and friendly pub-hospitality. There is 4-star luxury bed and breakfast accommodation complete with sumptuous beds, plump duvets and crisp fresh linens at honestly affordable prices, together with top quality meals and a traditional bar with many wines by the glass and hand-pulled beer on tap.

On warm days it doesn’t come much better than relaxing outside or in the landscaped gardens and enjoying a drink whilst admiring the view of the valley and the hills. During the cooler months a roaring log fire welcomes visitors and the bar becomes the meeting place of the village.

The Garden Room Restaurant offers a smart yet informal dining experience for those who enjoy freshly prepared contemporary cuisine taking full advantage of locally sourced ingredients and produce. There’s a wide choice on the menu (and always some Specials too) including steaks, lamb shanks, sea bass, the Dafydd burger, vegetarian and vegan choices. Most eccentric perhaps is the head chef’s signature dish, “Battle of Crogen” pie. This award-winning mix of Welsh lamb, mead and apricots wrapped in pastry takes it’s name from a historic battle between and English king and Welsh princes that took place in the Ceiriog valley in 1165.

The same meals are available in The Pheasant Bar which is the original 18th century part of the Inn. There’s a pleasantly informal atmosphere and a quirky combination of traditional slate flooring and contemporary decor. The bar has a selection of popular beers, lagers and ciders and usually a hand-drawn real ale such as The Reverend James, plus no fewer than eight specially chosen wines served by the glass.

There’s a touch of luxury in the bedrooms where you will find fresh décor, contemporary furnishings, pocket-sprung beds, fast wi-fi and a flat-screen television. Add in luxury duck-down duvets, plump pillows, a minibar and a well-stocked hospitality tray and an en-suite bathroom with aromatic toiletries and waffle bathrobes. Each room has a view of the village or the quintessentially Welsh valley beyond.

The Mulberry Inn ideally located just a few miles from historic Chirk, beautiful Llangollen with its canal boats, golf club and the world-famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, the market town of Oswestry and within easy driving distance of Chester, Shrewsbury and Welshpool. The hotel provides secure bike and motor-bike storage.
