Number 38 Clifton is a cool new boutique hotel housed in a recently refurbished Georgian townhouse. To the front it looks out across the Clifton Downs to the Avon Gorge, and from the back there are spectacular views across Bristol. On a calm evening you can often watch hot-air balloons drifting over the city, and when the Balloon Festival is on the sky is full of them!

Naturally there is a gourmet breakfast served daily. Choose a full cooked breakfast or a lighter alternative such as scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, fresh fruit or granola. There is also a daily and evening menu of coffees, soft drinks and cream teas in one of the comfortable reception rooms. On a clement evening you can sit out on the terrace and enjoy a selection of wines or cocktails with a view over the rooftops of the city. If the weather is not so good, go inside to the cosy lounge where there may be a fire burning in the hearth.

All the bedrooms have at least a king-size bed and a view of the downs or the city. They are beautifully decorated in soft colours and comprehensively equipped with a flat-screen TV, minibar and tea and coffee facilities. All have an en-suite bathroom with shower, hairdryer, bathrobes and complimentary toiletries, and some also have a rather special bath for a luxurious soak.

Clifton is a great location with lots of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. The Clifton Downs are right in front of the hotel, from where you can stroll down to Brunel's iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge and enjoy the views of the Avon Gorge. Just down the road in Bristol there is Bristol Zoo, the City Museum and Art Gallery, the Hippodrome Theatre, the SS Great Britain and so much more.
