Pencubitt House.
Lamellion Cross, Liskeard, Cornwall.
Nestled amongst large gardens on a gentle hillside outside Liskeard, Pencubitt House is a small country house hotel ideally placed for exploring this part of Cornwall and Devon. It's really close to Bodmin and Bodmin Moor and the local fishing villages of Looe and Polperro. Harbour towns like Fowey and Mevagissey, The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan are all nearby. There are also country houses such as Lanhydrock and Cotehele, and even Dartmoor, Plymouth and the Tamar valley are within easy range.
This former Victorian wool merchant’s home features nine individually decorated and comfortable rooms together with a relaxing guest lounge and a licensed bar where you’ll find all day complimentary tea & coffee. Outside there are 2 acres of grounds full of smooth lawns, verdant shrubs and mature trees. There are so many places to relax and take in the views.
Like in any good English hotel, there is a hearty breakfast awaiting you. That's "full English breakfast" of course, or a variety of fruits, cereals, yoghurts, bread and preserves. Or select something else such as kippers, smoked salmon, smoked haddock or an omelette. Throughout the summer, Pencubitt House also serves a dinner menu (pre-booking is essential) with lots of tasty treats.
All the guest bedrooms are immaculately presented. Each one has an en-suite with a walk-in shower, and Room 9 also has a large slipper bath with a glorious view of the garden while you soak. There's free wi-fi, a refreshment tray with tea, coffee and Cornish bottled water, a flatscreen TV, large fluffy towels, lovely toiletries and a hair dryer. Almost every room has a great view too.
