Sitting in a commanding position overlooking the Bristol Channel, Seawood House is a boutique hotel in a Grade II-listed Victorian house on the edge of Lynton. As befits a house built in 1824, the decor is traditional yet the service and facilities are totally up-to-date. Enveloped by trees, the hotel provides a comfortable and tranquil atmosphere.

With large windows overlooking the terrace and the sea beyond, the lounge is the perfect place to relax, read or enjoy an after-dinner coffee. The impressive chandelier adds to the grandeur and elegance of the house and the log fire makes a cosy addition for the winter months.

In front of the house, the terraced gardens offer the most stunning views of Lynmouth Bay and Foreland Point. It's a great spot to have breakfast on a sunny morning, a pot of tea in the afternoon or a glass of wine in the evening.

The dining room commands the same impressive views, and dinner is served here four nights a week. Daily breakfast is also provided and everything is locally-sourced from trusted suppliers.

Named after landmarks in the surrounding area, rooms and suites have some of the best views in Lynton and Lynmouth. Each is individually decorated and features stylish funishings and modern en suite bathrooms. They all include a hospitality tray which features Cliff Railway fine bone china mugs, hot chocolate, local Miles tea and coffee and biscuits. Rooms range from Classic Doubles with a side aspect on the Atlantic side of the house, through Superior Rooms with lavish furnishings, kingsize beds and sea views, right up to the spacious suites with private sitting areas and exceptional sea views.

North Walk lies right by the top station of the Cliff Railway. In one direction it takes you straight into Lynton and in the other it leads to a footpath to the Valley of the Rocks. Of course no visit would be complete without a ride on the cliff railway, and it conveniently takes you down to Lynmouth harbour and the meeting of the East and West Lyn rivers. One of the prettiest nearby walks is from Lynmouth to Watersmeet, but there are great walks galore in every part of the area.
