Skye Picture House.
Ard Dorch, Broadford, Isle of Skye.
What can one say, except "Location! Location! Location!". Skye Picture House is situated in a pretty-as-a-picture location right on the waterside on the sheltered side of the Isle of Skye. Just six miles north of Broadford, the Bed and Breakfast has a central location on the island ideal for touring around.
With panoramic views of the mountains and sea from almost every window, a comfortable lounge and waterside deck area, a memorable stay is assured. The one acre garden tumbles down onto the rocky seashore, a place frequented by otters and herons and often visited by seals.
Stuart and Sarah are great hosts and serve an excellent breakfast every day with Sarah's super porridge and lots of choices of freshly baked bread and pastries, together with ham and cheeses. Very continental!
Without a doubt the best room in the house is the King Double, with dual aspect windows looking across the loch and along it towards the Old Man of Storr. The second double and one of the single rooms also have views of the sea while the twin room and the other single look back onto the wooded garden behind. Every room has a flatscreen television, tea and coffee-making facilities and an en-suite bathroom with a bath or shower, hairdryer and free toiletries.
Not just a stunning location, Skye Picture House is also the perfect base to visit all the major attractions on the Isle of Skye. There is Clan Donald and Armadale castle, Elgol and the Misty Isle boat trips, the Black Cuillins mountains, Talisker Distillery, Fairy Pools, Dunvegan castle and the famous rock formation of the Quiraing.
