The Swallows Rest Bed & Breakfast is a part of a modern but traditional stone-built village home, situated in the pretty village of Brigstock on a quiet country lane overlooking fields and a vineyard. Whether you come for work, rest or play, it’s ideally positioned within easy reach of Corby, Oundle and Kettering.
The B&B accommodation offers three beautifully decorated bedrooms with luxurious en-suite bathrooms. All the rooms have extra comfy superking beds (twin beds is an alternative in one room) with sumptuous mattress toppers and Egyptian cotton bed linen There’s a desk with desk lamp if you’ve come on business, free wifi, a 42 inch flatscreen tv, selection of Teapig teas and ground coffee, homemade cookies and bottled filtered water. The bathrooms have powerful showers and a bath, super fluffy towels, underfloor heating, heated towel rail, hairdryer and lovely organic bathroom toiletries.
There’s a bright and airy breakfast room with a garden terrace. On weekdays the Continental Breakfast includes cereals, home-baked bread, fresh croissants and pain-au-chocolat and a selection of yogurts, juices and teas. There’s homemade jam or local Brigstock honey for your toast. At weekends, there’s also a full English breakfast available, with bacon and sausages from the local butcher and eggs from the hens next door.
The local area offers so much to see and do. There are a number of recommended pubs and restaurants in the area, some within walking distance if you’re planning on enjoying a tipple. For lovers of country houses, there are numerous in the vicinity including Kirby Hall, Boughton House, Rockingham Castle and the unusual Lyveden New Bield which is not a ruin (as first appears) but an uncompleted project since work stopped in 1605!
