Tuddenham Mill Hotel.
High Street, Tuddenham, Suffolk.
The old watermill at Tuddenham Mill offers chic, elegant and stylish accommodation in an idyllic 12-acre countryside setting between Newmarket, Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge. The sympathetic refurbishment makes Tuddenham Mill Hotel an impressive boutique hotel where there is a real passion for great food and wine.
The award-winning restaurant under Chef Patron Lee Bye brings together an exceptional environment, great food and discrete yet attentive service. With its exposed beams, and the views across the mill pond, Tuddenham Mill offers a unique mix of influences to excite the senses. Whether it is a snack, Sunday lunch or a special dinner, the talent team deliver culinary excellence at a fair price.
The twenty rooms feature over-sized beds, Bose sound systems and smart TVs, walk-in showers, Missoni dressing gowns and Espa toiletries for the ultimate in comfort and luxury. The Mill rooms in the original mill building feature exposed beams and have views overlooking the mill pond. TheLoft Suites are spacious and luxurious and come with their own balconies overlooking the stunning Suffolk water meadow or the mill stream. They are particularly private, being accessed via external private stairs. The Mill Stream and Watermeadow rooms are the "standard" rooms, but are truly very far from standard. They feature full length glass terrace doors that cover the whole end wall of the room and open to create a fabulous inside-outside feeling, and allow you to enjoy your own private terrace and unspoilt views of the spacious grounds. The most recent and most novel rooms are the Meadow Nooks, set in the meadow next to the mill stream. The Nooks have underfloor heating, outdoor decked seating area and one even comes with its own natural, wood-fired hot tub, discretely positioned outside the Nook and overlooking unspoilt views of the Suffolk countryside.
Tuddenham village is surrounded by coutry cycling routes and trails, so guests can borrow a bike from the hotel or bring their own to explore the area. Going just slightly further afield, Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds, Ely and Newmarket are all within easy range. The opportunities for visits and activities are numerous.
