Wrea Head Hall
, Barmoor Lane, Scarborough, Yorkshire.
Wrea Head Hall is an elegant Yorkshire hotel set in acres of landscaped grounds near Scarborough. From here there is easy access onto the North Yorks moors. This stunning country house hotel has uninterrupted views across the Yorkshire countryside, and a superb restaurant serving delicious contemporary British cuisine in classic surroundings.
The grounds are a classic English parkland, where guests are welcome to wander at will. The wonderful interior is a riot of oak-panelling, mullioned windows and ornate plasterwork. This is a lovely place to sit and think (or read in the library), or perhaps to enjoy a drink on the terrace or in the bay window of the bar.
The design theme continues in the bedrooms, all individually designed. Some have four-poster beds and all have a view of the garden. The bathrooms are large and luxurious with fine fittings and exotic materials.
The 1881 Restaurant at Wrea Head is in the original oakpanelled dining room. With its gilt blocked wall paper, antique mirrors, wall lights and paintings illuminated by candle light it makes the perfect romantic dining room in which to enjoy some exceptional dishes.
