Nutgrove House is a luxury B&B in a delightful, historically listed, country house built about 1834 where you will receive a warm welcome from Caroline and Richard.

There are large gardens in which you can walk, sit, play croquet or tennis whilst enjoying magnificent views of the Mourne Mountains. If you want to explore you can walk through the fernery by the millrace to the lake where you can fish for trout.

Indoors there is a handsome drawing roof with large comfy sofas, a marble fireplace (usually with a fire blazing) and a piano. This is the perfect place to relax after a day out exploring the Ulster countryside. To keep things totally peaceful, the drawing room is a TV-free-zone, but there is an ample selection of books to read. Breakfast is served in the formal dining room, where you can look out on the fountain and gardens. Naturally there's a traditional Irish breakfast on offer, combined as you wish with fresh fruit, cereals, muesli and porridge.

There are just two  guest rooms in the main house, fully en-suite with bath and shower facilities and they feature all you will need for a comfortable stay from coffee-making facilities to Wi-fi. The Red Room has a double bed and the Rose Room has twin beds. The third guest accommodation is the Little Orchard Shepherd's Hut set out in the garden. This charming little hut has all the comforts of home; a fitted kitchen, en-suite bathroom, double bed, log-burning stove, electric heating and freesat television.

There is ample parking at Nutgrove  and  good road access to Belfast, Ballynahinch, Downpatrick, Newcastle and Strangford Lough. Nearby  attractions include golf (at the Royal County Down Golf Club, and others), the St. Patrick's Trail, mountain walks, beach walks, sailing, fishing, horse riding, cycling, an aquarium, various National Trust properties and more!
