Baglio Siciliamo is a country hotel for adults only constructed around an 18th century courtyard complete with well. It lies close to Lido di Noto and the beach, surrounded by fields and lemon and olive trees.

The courtyard is the heart of Baglio Siciliamo, and the ideal place to enjoy breakfast in the morning or dinner in the evening. The restaurant serves a varied menu of traditional Sicilian dishes using fresh local ingredients. Breakfast includes a generous buffet with local or international choices. There’s fresh orange juice, croissants, cakes, yoghurts, cheeses, cold meats, fresh seasonal fruit and of course, because this is Italy, unmissable coffee and cappucino.

Surrounded by green citrus, olive trees and prickly pears in the garden, the pool offers relaxing moments. There are hammocks, sunbeds, chairs and umbrellas on the terrace and lawn so guests can enjoy the warm Sicilian sun while having a drink from the pool bar.

Indoors there’s also a bar, and a lounge with glass panels in the floor revealing some of the interesting history that underpins the building.

The air-conditioned rooms include a minibar, private entrance and en-suite bathroom with shower and a hairdryer. They have a clean modern design augmented by the period features of the ancient building. There is a choice of junior suites, double rooms and loft rooms. Other facilities include a flatscreen television, minibar, a safe and wi-fi.

Nearby Noto claims for itself the title of Baroque Capital of Europe, being a UNESCO World Heritage site with more than 30 churches, several convents and palaces all built in the baroque style. The beaches close by include both the more popular commercial ones with all the facilities one could ask for, and also virgin beaches with nothing but sand and water.  Inland, Cavagrande del Cassibile is a natural paradise of mountains, forest, lakes and waterfalls. The more ancient history Sicily is reflected in the Greek architectural sites including the city of Eloro and the amphitheatre at Akrai.
