B&B Lago Maggiore

The B&B Lago Maggiore does “exactly what it says on the tin”. It’s a bed-and-breakfast in a spectacular hillside position overlooking Lake Maggiore. There are balconies, terraces and lawns dotted all over, and the B&B is surrounded by a large private woodland.

Breakfast consists of Italian coffee, cappuccino, tea, milk, fruit juices, butter, boiled eggs, muesli, cornflakes, homemade jam, honey, Nutella, yogurt, fresh fruit, dried fruit, Parma ham, boiled ham, Italian salami, local cheese together with bread, homemade cakes and fresh pastries, usually served out in the sunshine, looking across the lake. For other meals, the centre of Cannobio is only a short walk away, and this is also the jumping-off point for the lake beaches, boat trips and other local excursions.

The three double guest rooms are freshly decorated and include an en-suite bathroom with a generous walk-in shower with a rain-shower head. Each room has a balcony too, so there never any chance of missing that wonderful view. Add in a flatscreen TV, wi-fi, a hairdryer and free toiletries and you have everything for the perfect stay.

From the relaxing position on one of the terraces, there’s always something to see down on the lake, from yacht and dinghy racing to just watching the ferries and private boats pass to and fro. Active guests can head to the lake for swimming, canoeing and water-skiing or turn up into the mountains on the hiking and mountain-biking trails. There are numerous excursion available from Cannobio, visiting places like the Borromean Islands, Villa Taranto, Val Grande, Val Vigezzo and Orta San Giulio.
