Rio Molas is a former country cottage that lies on a gentle hill, having a gorgeous panoramic view down over the Sardinian coastline with its lagoons, sandy beaches and crystal clear waters.

The hotel is a collection of buildings that meander across the hillside, swathed in a garden of Mediterranean trees and shrubs with numerous little corners to sit and relax in solitude. There are two swimming pools on different levels, all surrounded by terrace and verandahs for sunbathing or enjoying the view from a shady spot.

The restaurant at Residenza Rio Molas serves breakfast, lunch and dinners, with local specialities and Italian dishes. The bar service provides the ideal opportunity to settle down at a terrace to sip a cocktail and take in the views.

The large bright guest rooms are furnished with a mix of antique and modern pieces incorporating a range of styles and colours typical of Sardinia. The en-suite bathrooms have a shower, hairdryer and complimentary toiletries and there is a television, air-conditioning, a minibar and a safe big enough for a laptop.

All around the hotel, the hillside is covered with the typical Mediterranean scrub, plus groves of oranges, lemons, olives, peaches and cherries. The long sandy beach at Muravera is only a couple of minutes away by car (or borrow bikes from the hotel). The beaches here are not crowded even in summer and the main facilities are just the sand and the water, with a few beach bars here and there. There are beautiful diving resorts within easy reach: from the world famous Capo Ferrato to the reefs arround the islands of Quirra, Serpentara and Cavoli. The hills behind are ideal for walking, hiking and mountain-biking.
