Villa Devoto is a small bed and breakfast situated right in the historic centre of Rapallo. It is given protected status by the Italian Fine Arts council because of its very special internal and external frescoes.

The B&B is handy for the train and bus stations, and for guests arriving by car there is free private parking accessed through a narrow arch in the Via Torre Civica. Step outside and you are right in the historic shopping and nightlife district of the town.

Despite being in a typical Italian old-town, Villa Devoto provides plenty of outdoor space, with a terrace, garden, deck chairs and sunbeds, and even a little children’s playground. Indoors features a TV room, library and fitness room, along with the breakfast room. Italian breakfast includes the typical Genoese focaccia bread and homemade cakes.

The bedrooms are located on the first, second and third floors, featuring ornate plasterwork and paintings, and also pieces of modern art too. The en-suite bathrooms have a shower or bath, and comfort is taken care of by the air-conditioning.

Having explored the town and harbour area of Rapallo, next stop should be Portofino just a short hop down the coast. Travelling just a little further, there is good walking and cycling country in the hills all around and Genoa has superb architecture, typical narrow alleys, museums, theatres and the biggest aquarium in Europe.
