The Abadia Hotel is a 16th century house, recently restored to provide a simple hotel of extraordinary charm, friendliness and quality. There is no grand list of facilities but the quality is in the detail. The patio displays typical carved stonework and mosaic paving, a central fountain, spectacular columns, and handrails in the original carved wood. Many more traditional artisan materials have been used for the hotel’s restoration, such as ceramics, wood, porcelain, Arabic fabrics, Granada paving and Nazarene lanterns. All-in-all, a very nice place to stay.
The patio is the physical and metaphorical centre of the hotel; a place to sit among the pot plants and contemplate, while listening to the murmur of the fountain. Many of the rooms lead straight off from the patio, or from the fine wooden gallery that surrounds it. They are comfortably furnished, nicely decorated and welcoming. The beds have special mattresses with lumbar support and pure cotton sheets. The rooms are equipped with television, telephone, fridge, internet access, air conditioning and central heating; the list goes on.
Abadia Hotel is very well located near the centre of Granada, in an area full of character. It is only a ten minute walk to the cathedral and other places in the centre, or a 5 minute bus ride to the Alhambra. The staff will be very keen to provide you with a map and tourist information, and to tell you about everything there is to see in Granada (it doesn’t just begin and end with the Alhambra!).
As a special offer for guests booking through Little Hotels, the hotel provides free parking in a local car park. (Quite a benefit in the centre of a busy city!)

Reviews
Reviews from Little Hotels Travellers:
I stayed at the Abadía Hotel and it was really nice.
First there is this amasing style they gave at the building, it is very unique.
And then, there is the courtyard, a quiet place near to the city center, where you can read, or have your breakfast in peace.
The room was clean and bright, with some equipment (kettle, mini fridge, hairdryer, shampoo and soap) and the staff was welcoming and helpful, they gave me some informations and recommendations and it was very useful.
I recommend this hotel to everyone! |
