It's hard to find enough superlatives to describe Can Talaias, a little finca hotel surrounded by hills and pine trees and overlooking the blue waters of the Mediterranean. There is something for everyone when staying at Can Talaias. It's a family haven, with safe exciting grounds all around, a trampoline, a kids garden house, and friendly animals. It's also a unique romantic escape, with a festival of colours from sunrise to sunset, spectacular starry nights with moonlit sea as a bonus when the time is right!

The terrace in front of the hotel is simply huge and the views from there are stunning. It really is an ideal spot to enjoy a leisurely breakfast facing the rising sun. Further down the hill is the wonderful swimming pool, secluded, and offering a choice of sun or shade. The gardens extend even further and are stocked with all manner of native species. They are a magical place to walk, sit or stroll, regardless of whether you're a garden lover or not. The original concept of the Mediterranean garden has been taken further to include a large plant nursery and greenhouses specialising in drought-resistant plants suitable for Ibiza.

Few guests will spend much time indoors but there is a lovely sitting room with a library for those times when a little indoor relaxation is in order. The guest rooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated. The two suites have their own terraces with extensive sea views. Most other rooms also have a terrace and/or a sea view.

Can Talaias was originally discovered by comic-actor Terry Thomas and his wife while horse-riding on Ibiza. At that point it was just another run-down farmhouse surrounded by dry fields and carob trees, but the views were irresistible. Having failed to resist, the house was bought, extended and improved to create the wonderful place we see today. Working from the original features of the finca, the improvements retained the classic Ibicencan style of thick walls with soft rounded edges, dark wood floors and large arched windows.

Double Room

One of the double rooms has it's own space outside withi the patio, and the one upstairs has a small balcony. The third room is the smallest but it also has the most character, and a sea view.

Superior Double Room

All the Superior rooms have a sea view (or a double sea view even). Two of them have a terrace or garden and the other benefits from a separate sitting area.

Sunflower Suite

The Sunflower Suite is a big round room with lots of space. It even has a second small bedroom with a pair of bunkbeds for children. Outside, the suite has it's own separate furnished area on the main terrace.

Terry Thomas Suite

This was the suite of the former owner; a big round room on the first floor with a huge terrace overlooking the sea. It includes a second bedroom for a couple of children.

Out and About

Ibiza

Beaches. Choose from totally secluded bays and beaches to ever-so-slightly more developed one. The choice is yours.

Can Talaias is the perfect starting point for short and long walks. Ask for maps and guidance on the best walks to suit your fitness and interest.

A Water sports centre is a short drive away.

Mountain bikes available.

All other activities like horse riding, golf, tennis are easy to organize on request.
