This 19th century townhouse is a lovely piece of architecture, perfectly located a few minutes walk from the expansive natural harbour of Mahon. The conversion of Casa Ládico into an adults-only boutique hotel was one of utmost care aimed at providing contemporary luxury within the framework of the original architecture.

Interior design was provided by a local consultancy who selected an attractive blend of lardwood, local stone, paints and wallpapers in soft and subtle Farrow & Ball tones, natural jute fabrics, upholstery by James Malone and some key pieces of furniture to emphasise the style. This design philosophy runs throughout the hotel, in the reception, the Bistro, dining room and all the guest rooms.

Behind the house is the enclosed courtyard with an elegant sunbathing area and a swimming pool. This charming suntrap is also the outdoor dining area for lunches and dinners.

Guest rooms are beautifully styled and spacious. The beds are large and offered with a choice of pillows. There is a 40" smart TV, high-speed wi-fi, a safe and a minibar. The en-suite bathrooms have walk-in rain showers, make-up mirrors, hair dryers, luxury towelling bathrobes and complimentary L'Occitane toiletries.

The Spa is an exclusive space with a steam sauna, an aromatic bathtub for two, shower, chill out area and a double treatment room with dressing room. As a special treat, Casa Ládico has a special and exclusive arrangement with Venecia Lounge, a small house perched on the end of a jetty right by the water on the north shore of Mahón Harbour. Guests can njoy a pre-dinner cocktail or glass of wine or champagne there while watching the spectacular sunset over the water.

The city of Mahon reflects the varied history of the island, including a lot of English Georgian architecture, but what is most special is the presence of the largest natural harbour in Europe and the easy access to the entire coast of Menorca.
