Casa del Maco
, Pou Roig, 15, Benissa.
Previously this was the family's holiday home, but now Casa Del Maco is a small 4 room boutique hotel with a gourmet French Restaurant mixing Mediterranean tones with vibrant creativity. It is a typical 18th century Spanish farmhouse nestling in the valley between Benissa and Calpe, surrounded by pine woods and terraced fields of olive and almond trees. The setting is utterly peaceful yet only a few kilometers from the bustle of the beaches. From the terrace there are outstanding views right down to the coast, to the colossal rock of Ifach and the glistening Mediterranean.
This little hotel has been lovingly restored with each guest room equipped with modern luxuries, some with hydromassage bath, but never losing the rural and Mediterranean character of the building. The antiques and restored furniture are high points of the decoration and every corner of the house has its own charm.
Outside, there are lovely terraces and a good-sized swimming pool. This is where the chef grows the herbs that he will use in his cooking, giving the whole space an unusually fragrant air. During the summer months, tables are laid for dinner on the terrace, and you can enjoy an aperitif in the garden before dining. The owners Hannes Galle and Barbara De Vooght are real experts in pampering and making your holiday unforgettable.

Reviews from Little Hotels Travellers:
Excellent hotel. We had the room separate from the main bdg the first night which I suspect is not always used but were then moved into the main bdg. V nice. Excellent food. Lovely setting. No info /suggestions of good places to visit nearby, which I thought surprising. Hhaving info on local walks, bike rides and where to hire from would have made a big difference. |
We found the service friendly and excellent, pool was just the right temperature and food superb. We really enjoyed our stay. |
Casa del Maco in Benissa was really good ...exactly the opposite of those large concrete towers on the beachfront at Benidorm...should be more of these style of small hotels and the restaurant was really of an excellent standard ...the only thing was that you can hear the freeway when outside but that is being extremely critical ..it wasn't one of those terrible seaside towers and so I was very happy ..the Spanish coast-line is being ruined by over-development ...but there you go ...thanks for being able to book us ...many thanks |
We did enjoy our stay with you at the weekend ? a little bit of paradise ? we will certainly return but we all agreed that we would have to share it with our husbands the next time. |
We had a wonderful two days at Casa Del Maco last month. It was very relaxing and the staff had that perfect mix of being on hand, but not intrusive.
The restaurant meal on the Monday night was wonderful, as was the pasta dish at lunchtime on Tuesday. My only comment would that it would be nice to have facilities to be able to make a hot drink in the room. It was recommended to us by my parents and their friends who had enjoyed a number of special events there. We shall certainly recommend it to friends who are visiting the area. If time permits and babysitters are willing, we will be back next year when visiting family. |
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Casa del Maco. Service excellent, bedrooms 'interesting' - not sure 6 nights in such a good restaurant is a good idea though! Had a great time thank you. Will certainly book through Little Hotels in the future. |
We had an excellent stay at Casa del Maco. The hotel itself is very attractive and well located, and the staff most friendly and attentive. The food is outstanding and the wine list excellent while still being sensibly priced. If we had one suggestion it is that the food is so rich that one does not really want to eat like that every night, and a wider menu including some salads and simpler dishes would be welcome. Booking via your website was also very easy. Overall we would certainly recommend the experience. |
Check room rates, check availability and make your booking. It's so easy!
