An hour from Santander and Bilbao, half an hour from the nearest coastline, but in a peaceful rural environment of its own, La Casa del Puente (meaning Bridge House) was created for those who have a bit of peace in mind: mountain walks, water trickling along the nearby River Gándara, caves (with ancient paintings) just a ten minute trip away, and a newly refurbished grand house in which to rest and enjoy a wonderful welcome.

With the hotel situated in the small town of Regules in the Sota Valley, the area itself is excellent for both relaxation and activities. Good places to fish, walk, hike, play golf and cycle are all found within a half-hour drive of La Casa del Puente. The hotel is also at the foot of the Collados del Asón National Park. As well as the generally pleasant temperatures and quality eating, this being Green Spain there is plenty of lush scenery, which all adds up to a rounded visit to that allows you to appreciate many of the country's qualities.

The hotel opened in 2011 with a wealth of accommodation options, be it the double rooms, the triple or the selection of suites and apartments that are suitable for parties ranging up to 6 people.

Then, if all that beautiful scenery wasn't enough relaxation, how about a spa? After a good day's hiking or indeed not doing much at all, guests can rest their weary or perfectly unweary legs in the jacuzzi or sauna. The terrace is also equipped with a barbecue for guests' use.

Some of the rooms and suites have a hydromassage bath and most enjoy privileged views of the delightful scenery. Good use has been made of the building's original features, with a lot of stone walling and wooden beams. With the recent renovation, nothing ever feels too old and in need of updating. Guests can opt for one of the apartments, which have kitchens and living rooms (two with a dining room).
