What stands out at Hotel Cuatre Finques is the quality: right from the quality of the masonry in the stone walls to the quality of the welcome from Pep and Nicky. Guests are assured of a really special holiday.
This beautiful boutique hotel has room to relax. There is a swimming pool surrounded by huge comfortable day-beds on the terrace, and at the end is the honesty bar where guests can serve themselves and pop a note in the book. The pergola provides more large comfortable chairs under the dappled shade, and this becomes the perfect place to spend the evening too.
Cuatre Finques has 6 en-suite bedrooms and 1 family suite, sleeping up to 16 adults and 2 children, all with complimentary WiFi and an outside terrace or balcony. Choose between 3 ground floor rooms sleeping 2-3 adults (one with wheelchair access) each with its own outside terrace. The rooms have air-conditioning, iPod dock, free WiFi, safety deposit box and hairdryer. On the first floor there are 3 double/twin rooms two with balconies overlooking the Xalo Valley and the other with mountain views from a juliet balcony. For absolute privacy and indulgence why not take over all 7 rooms with friends and family?
The small, oh-so-Spanish town of Xaló (or Jalón) is within walking distance of the hotel. The Jalón valley is a pretty farming area with vineyards, olives, almonds and orange groves, also dotted with a few more villages. Then just a short drive away there are the long sandy beaches and more hectic pace of the Costa Blanca itself.

Reviews
Reviews from Little Hotels Travellers:
We recently stayed 5 nights at B&B Cuatre Finques in Xalo, Spain.
We had a very nice stay; the house is beautifully located at walking distance from the village of Xalo (Jalon).
Our room (Moscatell) was spacious and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was served every day on our private terrace. The room was cleaned daily and towels changed regularly. The owners are very friendly people, and while they are not always present, they make sure you don't lack anything. Particularly Nicky is always ready to give advice about restaurants to go to, walking tours, or festivities in the village. She will always enthusiastically answer any question you have.
Our advice would be to bring some variety into breakfast, particularly if guests are staying several nights. For ?120 per night, breakfast was a bit meagre. Tip: instead of serving 1 liter of canned orange juice, serve one glass of freshly squeezed orange (or other) juice. On our last day we had to leave early (6:20 am) for the airport, and were not served any breakfast. When we asked about breakfast the day before, we were told that it's too early as the bread is only baked later in the morning. We were told that if we insisted, we could have some bread from the day before, and we could get some coffee from the bar near the swimming pool. That was disappointing as breakfast is included in the room price and we had more than an hour's drive to the airport.
We did have a fantastic stay and will definitely (in fact we already have) recommend it to our family, friends, and colleagues. |
Without doubt one of the most special places we have ever found on the Little Hotels website. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. The owners, Nicky and Pep built the hotel from scratch and it only opened in 2014. There are only 6 rooms - we stayed in Frigola on the ground floor. The room was beautifully and comfortably furnished with a large bathroom and walk in shower. Breakfasts taken outside were ample with bread, fruit, jams, yogurt and coffee as made by Pep. A couple of times during our one week stay Nicky & Pep provided an evening meal – once it was a vast array of tapas served around the (honesty) bar and the other a fantastic sit down feast cooked on the BBQ, garlic clams and dorada stuffed with lime. The pool area has massive double sunbeds to lie on and plenty of seating in the shade. There are bikes available to borrow to explore the surroundings and Pep has vast local knowledge and maps should you fancy walking. The town of Jalon is only 15 mins walk away and has numbers of places to eat in the evenings. There are also supermarkets and an Orange phone shop for emergencies! Oh, and the chickens are called Susan! |

A Word from the Owner
To define us is not easy! Our goal is not to be a Hotel, Casa Rural, or Bed and Breakfast. Beyond the meaning of individual words - a rural retreat with friendliness that is familiar, but with professionalism, and an ambiance that makes you unwind the moment you arrive and allows you to feel totally relaxed by the time you leave.
