Fontsanta Hotel is a 5 Star hotel in the south of Mallorca, exclusively for adults only. In addition to all the natural beauty and luxury that one would expect of a quality hotel in the Mallorcan countryside, Fontsanta also possesses a unique spa and wellness centre built on it's natural thermal spring.
The hotel is built of local stone so it sits comfortably within its lush green garden, utterly at home within its surroundings. The soft mellow colour of the stone is the inspiration for the colours throughout the hotel, gentle greys, white and beige balanced by occasional splashes of dark wood. The style is a perfect blend of traditional and modern.
The 25 rooms offer a variety of facilities and space according to budget, but they are all decorated to an extremely high standard appropriate to the hotel's star rating. Most have a private balcony or terrace where guests can enjoy their personal space while sipping something from the minibar or brought to them by room service.
The name Fontsanta translates as "Sacred Spring" and it is this natural warm spring of mineral water which gives Fontsanta Hotel its unique Thermal Spa. It is indeed the only spa in the Balearic Islands using natural spa waters from a subterranean source. Rising up from far below ground the waters are charged with a high concentration of minerals (25.34 gm/l) which cannot be reproduced by any other means. It is the high concentration of chlorine and sodium salts, laced with traces of calcium, magnesium, sulphur, fluorine and potassium that give Fontsanta its unique character. Thes rich minerals have been known since 1869 for their positive effects on the skin, blood and lymphatic circulation.
Fontsanta is a mere 3km from Es Trenc beach, famous for its shallow crystal-clear water and the long expanse of fine sand. The fame of Es Trenc has not brought over-crowding though, because it is a protected natural reserve with just the occasional beach bar or chiringuito to attend to the visitor's needs. To finish the scene to perfection, the beach is backed by lagoons, salinas and pine woods.
Double Room with patio
A mixture of tradition and modernity, with a stylish décor. These rooms have an area of 30m2 plus a private patio of a further 30m2.
Meals
The restaurant is warm and tranquil in the style of the whole hotel. Alternative dining is available on the terrace. Menus are prepared for a sophisticated palate using healthy, fresh ingredients from the local markets.
Out and About
Es Trenc
Beaches - Es Trenc is just one of many. Also try Ses Covetes, Sa Rapita, Es Carbo or Es Dols.
Boating - All manner of motor boat and yacht options are available nearby, including day charters.
Scuba Diving - The crystal clear waters of Mallorca are an irresistible invitation to divers and snorkellers. The nearby sland of Cabrera is a special attraction.
Windsurfing - warm, flat water and sandy beaches make for easy, safe windsurfing. A great place to learn.
Birdwatching - The nearby Salobrar de Campos is a popular area for bird watchers. There have been over 1700 species identified in the area.
Cycling - The southern half of Mallorca is quite flat so cycling doesn't have to be unduly energetic. Try the cycle path from Ses Salines to Cap Blanc.
Golf - Some of the best golf courses on the island, Golf Maioris and Golf Son Antem Oeste, are near the hotel.
Walking and Hiking
There are so many walks along the coast. Head for the lighthouse at Cap de Ses Salines for some tremendous views. Ask at hotel reception for other suggestions.
Horse Riding - Various equestrian centres cater for riders of all levels of ability.
Places to Visit:
Cabrera - This offshore nature reserve is a justifiably popular day trip, though numbers are limited in order to preserve the environment. In summer, boats go from nearby Colonia de Sant Jordi.
Es Salobrar de Campos - Right near the hotel are the salt pans that have been used since Roman times. The salinas and other wetlands are a haven for wildlife, and especially for birds. Many migrating species stop here.
Colonia de Sant Jordi - this compact little resort on a rocky promontory offers bars, restaurants and shops.
Mondrago National Park - An utterly beautiful string of unspoilt pretty coves scattered delicately along the coast.

Here's What Some People Have Written On Other Review Sites or in the Guestbook:
The restaurant is excellent, very inventive gastronomy. The breakfast is honestly the best we have come across with a fantastic variety of excellent quality. |
The location was perfect, excellent food, sweet helpful staff and great spa. |
We would love to visit this hotel every year for a little rejuvenation therapy. It was a really relaxing, lovely experience. |
The staff couldn't be more helpful - great recommendations of things to do, friendly chatter and I seemed to scatter belongings around the grounds, and somehow they always ended up back at reception with my name on them. |
