The situation of Finca La Fronda is quite simply a paradise for nature lovers, located in one of the remote corners of Spain, the province of Huelva at the far western end of Andalucia. Deep in the heart of the Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche Natural Park, the hotel is right out in the country, with spectacular views all around. Finca La Fronda is also a 10 hectare working farm mainly cultivating cork oaks and edible chestnut trees.
Starting from a run-down farm with even more run-down buildings, owners Charles and Reyes have brought the place to life, at the same time putting considerable effort into incorporating the building into the surrounding environment, using rustic exposed brickwork, aged tiles and warm colours. The building is ranged in a U around a typical Andaluz central patio where there are orange trees and a pond stocked with fish. Out in the garden there is a swimming pool with fantastic views and an ample sun terrace, while covered terraces provide shady sitting areas.
The hotel has two sitting rooms, one large and comfortable and the other smaller and more intimate. There are seven bedrooms, most with king-size double beds, one with twin beds and one very large one fully adapted for a disabled guest. For even more space and privacy, one or two of the bedrooms can be combined with the smaller sitting room to provide a one or two bedroom suite.
Standard Double Room
Generous rooms of 34m2 or more, with great views and a large bathroom. All the luxuries: kingsize bed, two armchairs, private terrace, air-conditioning, bath and shower.
Special Double Room
Similar to the standard rooms but with even more space (44m2), for even more luxury.
Meals
Charles and Reyes are proud of their ample breakfasts. For a small extra charge, they can provide a cooked English breakfast or a local speciality Jabugo breakfast including world famous Jabugo air-cured ham.
In the evening, if you don't feel like going out to visit one of the numerous excellent restaurants in the area, the hotel will provide a light meal of your choice.

Reviews
Reviews from Little Hotels Travellers:
Finca La Fronda was wonderful - I think the photos on the website undersold it! The views were fantastic, the rooms bigger than average, and the owners very caring. I'd recommend it. |
I cannot praise this highly enough. Beautiful accommodation, wonderful service, beautiful breakfasts and a lovely location. We so enjoyed our stay I wished we had been there all along. I would go back and highly recommend it. On our second night we could not get a meal in the town so they opened the kitchen and made a tasty meal just for use - service indeed. In a different class of service to the rest. |
Fantastic and more than we could have expected; utterly tasteful with a charming and helpful owner. We shall return with friends. |

We Say
We'll say it again: this is a paradise for nature lovers. If you want the bright lights, go somewhere else. If you want the starlight, this is for you.
A Word from the Owner
We bought Finca la Fronda in the year 2000 with the intention of taking early retirement in this Sierra we love so much. This was after a working life in England, Peru, Germany and many years in Madrid, Spain. We moved here in 2004 and set about creating “Finca la Fronda” in an effort to make the farm profitable and give other nature lovers the opportunity of enjoying this little paradise.
