El Mirador de los Pirineos (formerly known as the Mirador de Santa Cruz) is a small rural hotel set on the southern edge of the Pyrenees. The solid mountain architecture, slightly reminiscent of an Alpine chalet, has been recently restored to provide accommodation of a high standard. Quality materials abound, with wood and stone not unnaturally taking precedence.
The hotel features five double rooms, one single and one suite; all with an en-suite bathroom and a private balcony or terrace. Indoors guests enjoy the use of the lounge with fireplace for the winter, a sauna, a jacuzzi with relaxation area and wi-fi internet connection. Outside in the garden there is plenty of space for lounging and a swimming pool. On summer evenings the clear mountain air gives an astonishing view of the night sky, a special privilege for city-dwellers. Other senses are touched by the distinctive aroma wafting off the surrounding oak and pine forests and the burbling of the spring which rises beside the house.
Not surprisingly given the name “Mirador”, the views are a special feature of El Mirador de los Pirineos. In the foreground there is a panoramic view down to the 11th century Romanesque church of Santa María. In the distance are the high peaks of the Pyrenees, snow-covered for much of the year.
Top class ski instructors and mountain guides are available exclusively for guests at El Mirador de los Pirineos. For those who feel less energetic there is a multitude of things to see and do, ranging from the natural, through the spiritual, to the cultural.

Lovely situation, beautiful hotel, friendly service and a good breakfast. Although they don't serve dinner, there is a little restaurant in the village that does good local dishes. |
The town was the prettiest little hamlet I have ever seen. The hotel was equally charming. It was really out in the country although only a few kilometers from Jaca. The room was delightful with a little balcony overlooking the mountains and town and wonderful down cover. There were welcoming biscuits and a little aperitif wine. Breakfast was fresh and superb. The staff was also charming and attempted to understand our Spanish/English mix. |
